Numerous routes lead from nearby mountain villages such as St. Oswald, Kaning, Innernöring, Innerkrems and Turrach into the centre of the national park. The 34-kilometre-long Nockalmstraße offers a variety of different starting points for hiking trips of different lengths and difficulty levels. It leads to the Schiestlscharte and the Eisentalhöhe, each located around 2,000 metres above sea level. Popular hiking trails, easy to manage by inexperienced walkers, lead to the Königstuhl and the Kolmnock. By following the well-marked hiking trails from the Nockalmstraße road, you can reach them in less than two hours.

The many hiking options are equally matched by the number of cosy cabins, alpine huts and inns. The innkeepers will cater to your physical well-being and prepare a variety of culinary delights according to traditional recipes.
